Webinar-video (english&german) “European Churches – Churches in Europe” | Thu, 13 May 2021

Europe and its churches are going through a period of tremor and renewal. In a time of crises European societies are doing some soul-searching and quarrelling with their own values of individual freedom and dignity for all, the rule of law and democracy, human rights and sustainability. Equally the role of churches in Europe is changing profoundly and progress towards Christian unity has gone through a period of limited progress. Therefore, we want to discuss with Church leaders: What is the role of our Churches in Europe? How can churches contribute to hope, solidarity and democracy – in Europe? How can the European voice of our churches become clearer and louder, how can cooperate with other European institutions and movements for a just, peaceful and sustainable Europe?

The European Christian Convention, based on the spirit of the Charta Ecumenica, is an ecumenical organisation with the mission to organize a participatory large-scale gathering in Europe. A Christian event – fully ecumenical – open to everyone – bringing together people from all over Europe and beyond.
